Description

The Myasishchev M-4 "Bison" is a four-engined Soviet strategic bomber built in the 1950s to provide a Long Range bomber capable for  attacking targets in North America. Although it wasn't actually able to attack the US and return to the SU, it was a huge topic as it made light on the "Bomber Gap" and led to development of more US bombers.

Nice looking model! The Bomber Gap was because of a flyby at a 1955 Soviet Air Show of a group of 28 Bisons. The first 10 flew by, came around and had 8 more in the formation. That hoax led to classified estimates that there were even more than there actually were... The Soviet Air Force didn't even want the Bison, but the Soviet Navy took them as a long-range Maritime Patrol Aircraft.
